Approximately 550 AC-drive experts and enthusiasts from all over the world are slowly coming back down to earth following the biggest drives event on the planet.
The Danfoss Drives Conference was held from 13 – 15 March in New Orleans. And, as usual, it was a roaring success. You can follow the action as it happened on our social media channels.
“It’s always a big challenge to make the conference bigger and better than the previous year. This year, following the merger, we were able to present our extended portfolio of application-optimized VACON® and VLT® products and DrivePro® services. And the biggest news from the event was ‘Hard core’ – the announcement of our entry into the medium-voltage market. Representing state-of-the-art technology and the most advanced engineering in the market, our unique, modular drive approach gives system integrators and OEMs the chance to take drive design to the next level and build the ultimate solution for their customers.
“The conference gives us the opportunity to closely interact with our customers and partners; to really listen to their needs first hand. It also allows us to prove we have the people and expertise, the products and services, the growth platform and tools, but most importantly, the ambition and attitude to be their number one drives partner,” explains Heikki Hiltunen, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Service, Danfoss Drives.
Another highlight of the conference was the chance for visitors to immerse themselves in a virtual reality world of drives. With the help of a set of goggles, they could enjoy a unique 360° experience of four different industry segments – Marine, Water and Wastewater, HVAC and Food and Beverage. Each segment was shot using a real-life video drone.
Comments from visitors who tried the virtual reality experience included: “It was incredibly realistic. You really felt like you were there, at the heart of the application” and “You could jump in and see how the drives optimize processes and hear how they increase efficiency and reduce energy consumption”.
You can watch videos taken from the virtual reality experience for yourself here.
With 90 breakout sessions hosted by 70 speakers, we certainly gave visitors a lot to think about. And with topics ranging from functional safety and software tools to hybridization technology in the marine industry, each session proved how a better tomorrow is driven by drives.
I’d like to thank all our visitors for making the journey to New Orleans. We sincerely hope you feel that it was worth your while. And I would also like to thank the whole team for continuing to make the Danfoss Drives Conference the biggest drives event on the planet.
We look forward to seeing you all again next time. In the meantime, check here to read more about Danfoss Drives and to learn about our Truck Tour – another approach that brings us closer to our customers than ever before.
