Europe’s leading exhibition for electric automation – the SPS IPC Drives fair – took place for the 26th time from 24–26 November in Nuremberg, Germany. 14 halls were packed full with 1,666 exhibitors from different countries around the world. The exhibition welcomed 64,386 visitors eager to hear about the latest products, trends and innovations in the industry.
The exhibition was a very important milestone for Danfoss Drives – SPS IPC Drives was the first fair we have exhibited at as one company after the merger. Anticipation was high, and I am proud to say that the stand and the press conference, which was hosted to a full house, were great successes. You can see some of the action from our stand in this video.
Both VLT® and VACON® products were showcased on our stand. And our team of experts, who have four-digit combined man-years of drives experience between them, clearly demonstrated how a better tomorrow is driven by drives.
Highlighted on our stand were the VLT® Midi Drive – a flexible, communicative and easy-to-use drive with just the right mix of features to fit a wide range of applications. And the VACON® 100 family, which is now available with a power extension up to 800 kW and includes a 690 V range.
The showstopper was clearly the Integrated Motion Controller (IMC). This new functionality for the VLT® AutomationDrive FC 302 provides encoder-free precise positioning and synchronization for many applications across all industry sectors and eliminates the need for costly servo equipment. Our confidence in this innovative product was rewarded as IMC won the prestigious annual Automation Award.
We’ll be updating our social media channels with information about this important win for Danfoss Drives. So keep watching and, more importantly, we look forward to seeing you at SPS IPC Drives 2016. Save the date: 22–24 November 2016.
